In collaboration with a national project management company, we were contracted to carry out an inspection and full structural design checks after fire damaged the roof of an apartment block. Our role included assessing the damaged structural members and recommending remedial works to strengthen the existing timber members.
LSY Engineering Consultants Ltd was appointed by Cadent Gas Ltd to provide structural engineering services for the replacement of a 48-inch diameter steel gas main spanning Regent's Canal in London. The existing gas main, supported on masonry piers, required replacement following the identification of a cracked weld. Our appointment included undertaking an initial structural survey, assessing the existing support infrastructure, and providing structural design input for the proposed replacement arrangement. The scope of services covered the assessment of the existing masonry piers, anchor blocks, and supporting structures, together with the design of remedial strengthening measures and structural appraisals for the revised loading conditions. Throughout the project, LSY worked closely with pipe stressing engineers, mechanical engineers, surveyors, and the principal contractor to ensure the successful delivery of the scheme.
LSY Engineering Consultants Ltd was appointed as lead Structural Engineer for a complex remediation project within an occupied eighteen-storey residential building. The project involved assessing the feasibility of removing an existing reinforced concrete shear wall at basement level to create access for the removal of contaminated water and oil storage tanks. Our involvement spanned the project lifecycle from initial feasibility and site investigations through to concept development, detailed design, and tender-stage support.
LSY Engineering Consultants Ltd was appointed to provide structural engineering services for the refurbishment of a luxury apartment within a prestigious residential building in South Kensington, London. The client's vision included the creation of larger, more open living spaces through a series of significant structural alterations, including new openings within load-bearing walls, bespoke rooflights incorporating a steel dome structure, modular timber pod installations, and the construction of new stone walls. Our involvement spanned RIBA Stages 2-5, encompassing structural feasibility assessments, Licence to Alter reporting, BIM coordination, temporary works review, building control approvals, detailed structural design, and site inspections throughout construction.
