In collaboration with a national project management company, we were contracted to carry out an inspection and full structural design checks after fire damaged the roof of an apartment block. Our role included assessing the damaged structural members and recommending remedial works to strengthen the existing timber members.
We were appointed by our developer client as lead structural engineers on the complex refurbishment of a mixed-use development in London. Our brief was to convert a basement of existing vaults into open-plan rooms by removing three internal walls, installing steel frames and lowering the vaults by 1.2m. LSY managed the project from concept to construction with a range of services, including civil and structural design, construction drawings, underpinning sequence design, steel fabrication connection design and site supervision.
LSY Engineering Consultants Ltd was appointed to provide full structural engineering and Building Control design services for the refurbishment of a property in Brompton Road, a four-storey mixed-use building located within the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. The project involved a comprehensive programme of structural alterations and upgrades, including the assessment and strengthening of existing structural elements, the design of new steelwork, floor strengthening works, chimney support arrangements, lintel designs for new openings, and the integration of new composite floor construction. Our involvement covered RIBA Stages 4 and 5, from detailed structural assessment through to construction support and Building Control approval.
