LSY Engineering Consultants Ltd is looking to recruit a graduate structural engineer for upcoming and ongoing projects. The role is West London based and is ideal for someone looking to begin a career in structural engineering.

Job Title: Graduate Structural Engineer – September 2026

Job Specification:

  • A key aspect of the role is the ability to deal with clients, suppliers, and members of the public.
  • The role will suit someone who is looking to gain varied structural experience and will be expected to run elements of projects on their own.
  • Role will involve structural design, report writing, and site visits.
  • Will be working on both permanent works and temporary works projects.
  • Structural surveys mainly in the London and county areas but will include occasional further travel within other cities and areas of the UK.
  • Liaising with clients which include architects, developers, contractors, property funds, housing associations, and project management companies.
  • Working on business and company development as we are constantly improving our processes — this will include internal systems and marketing.
  • All training and work will be checked by Chartered Engineers (CEng, MIStructE structural engineers) while receiving mentorship from Chartered Engineers.
  • Will be expected to attain MIStructE chartership.

We are seeking applicants who:

  • Are passionate about engineering and interested in gaining varied structural experience.
  • Have A-level Maths and Physics or equivalent qualifications.
  • Are currently undertaking an engineering-related course (e.g. BEng or MEng).
  • Are able to work independently.
  • Basic IT knowledge, for example Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Possess good communication skills and be able to deal with clients, suppliers, and members of the public.
  • Looking to work part-time upon completion of summer placement with a view to joining practice once completion of university.
  • Looking to attain MIStructE chartership.
